Eric Cooper

Eric joined HelmsBriscoe after a very successful 18-year career in the hospitality industry. After earning an MA in International Relations from St. Mary’s University, Eric began his career with the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau in 1993. Eric then moved to focus on hotel sales with major hotel chains, including Crowne Plaza, Radisson, Doubletree, Hilton and Starwood. Eric has held positions as Senior Sales Manager, National Sales Manager and Director of Group Sales.

A longtime member of the Sunbelt Chapter of MPI, Eric served on the Board of Directors as VP of Finance. He has also served as VP of Finance for SITE Texas. Eric’s other industry affiliations include ASAE, RCMA and PCMA. He has been recognized for his work in the industry as a Hilton Circle of Excellence recipient, HelmsBriscoe Hotel Partner of the Year, MPI Rising Star, and MPI Supplier of the Year. Eric is known for his creativity, contract knowledge, negotiation skills and extraordinary relationships with his clients. He attributes this to his active role in, and his passion for, the hospitality industry and his determination to offer legendary service to his clients. Eric enjoys spending time with his family and has a passion for snow skiing.
