Therese Villano

Therese joined HelmsBriscoe in 2001 after more than 14 years in the meeting and events management field. She started her career as a meeting planner at ATKearney, a global management consulting firm. This is where she developed the organizational and logistical skills that paved the way for her successful meeting planning career. Ten years later, she accepted a position working onsite for American Express GTMS, where she worked closely with the client’s corporate travel and meeting departments, as well as sourced and handled logistics for internal and external meetings.

In 2000, Therese moved to McGettigan Partners where she sourced meetings for both pharmaceutical and corporate clients. Soon after, she joined HelmsBriscoe and was able to draw on her extensive knowledge of meeting planning and logistics to serve her clients. Therese’s expertise lies in identifying the ideal venues for meetings, negotiating contracts, and providing the best value possible. Her client base includes corporate, association, and government. Therese is a graduate of Eastern Illinois University and lives in Park Ridge with her husband, and her two grown children live nearby. She is active in fundraising and providing in-person assistance to Avenues to Independence, an organization that supports individuals with developmental disabilities.
